KISS is an American rock band formed in New York City in January 1973. The band's lineup consists of current members Paul Stanley (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Gene Simmons (bass guitar, vocals), Tommy Thayer (lead guitar, vocals), and Eric Singer (drums, vocals).
Paul Stanley, also known as "The Starchild," co-founded the band with Gene Simmons and is known for his distinctive stage antics, such as high-flying acrobatics and playing guitar while being lifted up on a hydraulic platform. He is also a talented painter and has released several solo albums.
Gene Simmons, also known as "The Demon," is the band's bassist and co-founder. He is known for his signature tongue flicking and blood-spitting, as well as his business ventures outside of music, including acting, writing, and producing.
Tommy Thayer joined KISS in 2002 as the lead guitarist in place of Ace Frehley. He is known for his musical skills and as a contributing songwriter for the band. Thayer is also the band's musical director and has worked with KISS since the mid-1990s as a producer and songwriter.
Eric Singer, also known as "The Catman," is the band's drummer and has been a member since 1991. He has also played for other bands such as Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath. Singer is known for his powerful drumming and vocal abilities, often singing lead on KISS songs such as "Black Diamond" and "Beth."
